Not that we here at Volvo of Burlingame don't love the lives we've made for ourselves here in scenic Burlingame, CA, but we have to admit, we're a wee bit jealous of Australians these days. Not only do they get the Great Barrier Reef, and not only do they originate from the same land down under as Men at Work, but now they're even getting our favorite automaker's new and used cars before we do. Allow us to explain:

For those who have yet to experience everything that the 2013 Volvo S60 has to offer, you are missing out. With a  2.5-liter I-5 engine that gets up to 250 horsepower and 30 mpg on the highway, there's a whole lot to love about this beauty of a sedan. Well in an effort to give us even more reasons to be fond of it, the brass at Volvo have recently unveiled the 2013 Volvo S60 Polestar.

With some sportier accents on the interior and exterior, the 2013 Volvo S60 Polestar will reportedly up the ante by maxing out at 350 horsepower and 368 lb.-ft. of torque. It will come with a six-speed automatic transmission, upgrades in the way of suspension, brakes and aerodynamics, and as it that weren't enough, this all-wheel-drive roadster will house a top speed of 155 mph. Not too shabby, right?

Unfortunately, we're still waiting on specifics in terms of fuel economy, and even more unfortunate is that we won't even be the first ones to try it out. That's because Volvo has decided to launch a "pilot program" for it in Australia by sending them 100 units in June to see how the masses take to them.

Like we said, it's hard not to be envious.

Then again, we'd be shocked if it didn't perform famously and so we're guessing it's only a matter of time before the 2013 Volvo S60 Polestar makes its way to North America. Until then, feel free to tide yourself over with a good old-fashioned test drive at our here dealership. Trust us, it helps.
