For while there, it seemed like all that we here at Volvo of Burlingame could talk about was our favorite automaker's commitment to the crash-free future of our new and used car lineup. Then again, it's hard to deny that this undertaking is as exciting as it is ambitious. And in case you were starting to think we had one-track minds, it now looks like the rest of the world is finally starting to take notice.

Just recently, the brass at Volvo headed out to the Enhanced Safety of Vehicles (ESV) Conference in Seoul, South Korea to enlighten folks on their efforts in the way of realizing their crash-free future. In light of the fact that 25% of traffic fatalities in China are pedestrians, plus another 14% in Europe and 12% in the US, the conference was more pertinent than ever. Well thanks to their efforts as of late, Volvo was subsequently rewarded with the 2013 Global NCAP Innovation Award.

As for the brass at Volvo, they're just staying the course.

"Several studies have documented that our collision-avoiding systems lead to significant accident reductions in real-life traffic," says Prof. Lotta Jakobsson, senior technical specialist of safety at Volvo. "By continuously introducing new preventive and protective systems, we keep moving towards our aim that by 2020 no one should be injured or killed in a new Volvo."1

So if you'd like to learn more about the cutting-edge safety features of the models on our lineup, the experts in our car parts department here in Burlingame, CA would be happy to fill you in. It's the future today, folks.
