If we here at Volvo of Burlingame learned anything from our favorite automaker's strides in the world of kinetic energy, it's that the brass at Volvo aren't afraid to be different. And why should they be? Just think of how far the new and used cars on our lot have evolved over the years and continue to be improved upon from one model to the next. Change is a beautiful thing, folks, and the great thing about Volvo is that ingenuity comes standard.

Take the Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid for instance. Ever since Volvo introduced it to the global marketplace, it's been so popular with the masses that they recently had to double production for next year just to meet the growing demand. Needless to say, you're probably onto something when you sell 3,000 plug-in hybrids in just six months in Holland alone.

And if you're wondering why these Volvo hybrids are all the rage right now, we'll let the experts do the explaining.

"Customers are seeing this technology as the coolest thing, and this is critical, as being at the cutting edge of such areas is a pillar of Volvo's future," says Lex Kerssemakers, head of product planning at Volvo. "A [Volvo XC90] powered by a four-cylinder engine and a hybrid system would have sounded crazy even five years ago, but it is clear that the world has changed."1

As for what's next on the agenda, rumor has it that Volvo is looking for a partner to begin development on a hybrid supermini. But until that partner is found, they'll continue to work on their new Scalable Platform Architecture for 2015.

So if all this forward-thinking news has you thinking about a test drive in one of our 2013 Volvo C30 models, we'd be happy to oblige you here in Burlingame, CA. Trust us, you won't be disappointed.
