A couple months ago, we here at Volvo of Burlingame were telling you fine folks about how our favorite automaker was working on reinventing our roads by making them electric. It was exciting stuff to say the least, but as far as cutting-edge technologies go, that one's a ways off.

Until then, we'll just have to tide ourselves over with the upcoming arrival of Sensus Connected Touch.

If this is your first time hearing of it, the aforementioned infotainment system transforms its 7-inch display into a beam-scanned, infrared touch-screen complete with lightning fast internet connectivity and approximately 20 different apps. Not only that, but it's the first system of its kind to feature voice-activated Spotify integration.

In fact, it's so exciting that it recently earned top honors at the 2013 Red Dot Design Award. As for why it earned the coveted Prestige Award, it's all about making it easier than ever to give our drivers what they want.

"The Red Dot Design Award confirms that this approach to an intuitive, human-centric user experience fulfills modern car owners' desire to remain constantly connected also when driving," says Alain Visser, senior vice president of Marketing, Sales and Customer Service at Volvo. "The introduction of Sensus Connected Touch paves the way for the large, factory-fitted portrait touch screen that will be part of the infotainment package in the all new [Volvo XC90] in 2014."1

So if you'd like to learn more about Sensus Connected Touch Before it makes its way to our lineup, the experts in our car parts department would be happy to fill you in at our dealership here in Burlingame, CA. It's the future today, folks.
