In Volvo's ideal world, all our vehicles will be connected, and we don't simply mean using the many amenities onboard for a better driving experience that is safer and fun. We mean vehicles actually connecting with each other to provide alerts.
As you can see in the video, Volvo's connected cars are set to help us with slippery roads, where one car could sense that the road is slippery, snowy, muddy, whatever it might be, and create an alert that other vehicles would pick up on as they approach the area, and send a warning signal to other drivers to be prepared.
