A couple weeks ago it was reported that our favorite car company, along with automotive safety technology company, Autoliv, have agreed to partner together in the ground-breaking autonomous driving (AD) initiative known as "Drive Me."
The project involves 100 families in the city of Gothenburg, Sweden, who will use Volvos with the latest AD technology. This will be the first time AD cars will be employed by members of the public for daily use. The project is expected to accelerate research and development of the latest safety technologies. Volvo president Håkan Samuelsson is quoted as saying "We are delighted to welcome Autoliv to the Drive Me family. Autonomous driving will make our roads better and safer. The sooner we can develop the necessary technologies and start offering them in our cars the better.”
