Another day, another game-changing update regarding our favorite automaker's City Safety system. The last time we here at Volvo of Burlingame were filling you in on it, the technology was being upgraded to detect oncoming wildlife before becoming road kill. It was a huge step towards realizing their crash-free lineup of new and used cars by the year 2020, and now that it's made its way to the public, our roads will never be the same again.
In case you haven't heard, Volvo has been offering City Safety and its autonomous emergency braking (AEB) as a standard feature on our lineup for quite a while now. To refresh your memory, it's a system that can detect oncoming vehicles, pedestrians and objects and automatically activate the brakes on a vehicle if the driver doesn't do so first. The more we hear about it, the more we're starting to think that these autonoumous cars aren't so far-fetched after all.
Well since you don't get to a crash-free lineup by accident, news has just come in that there are now over 1 million Volvo models on the road right now that are equipped with AEB. It's a cause for celebration alright and it's keeping the experts in our car parts department busier than ever.
So if you'd like to see for yourself what driving is like with City Safety by your side, our space-age lineup awaits you at our dealership here in Burlingame, CA. We've said it once and we'll say it again: it's the future today, folks.
