You might not know it by name, but here at Volvo of Santa Monica, we bet you’re familiar with the iconic body shape of the Volvo 850 models. Launched in 1991 under the banner “A dynamic car with four world-firsts.” Last month celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Volvo 850, and we want to honor our roots with a look back at the model that reached for the stars.

For those familiar with Polestar Performance, you know you can expect an awesome boost to performance and driving dynamics from its performance packages, known as Polestar Performance Optimization. Hot on the heels of offering this package to the Volvo XC90 last year, Polestar is bringing the same upgrades to two other models in Volvo’s top-of-the-line 90 range.

Volvo has been reinventing and reviving its image as a premium automaker for the past few years, reasserting itself as a very competitive force in this crowded market. Another way Volvo intends to grab part of the global market is with its small car strategy, which is focused on “a range of vehicles that combine bold exterior and interior design with industry-leading connectivity, [drivetrain] electrification and autonomous drive technologies.” Part of that strategy was unveiled on May 18th in the form of two new concept vehicles, the Volvo Concept 40 series.

An all-new Volvo XC90 is coming soon to dealerships, and it's redefining our idea of luxury. The above photo displays the grand interior of the XC90 Excellence, the top-tier trim level of the safest Volvo SUV of all time, which made a stunning appearance at the New York Auto Show this month.

There's no question that Volvo is at the forefront of developing the latest car technology. Its newest in-car delivery service is no exception.
